About me

In 2011 I began to research my family history. What started as a casual interest quickly developed into a passion. I hope to be able to share some of what I have learned about my family. Please contact me by posting a comment if you think we share a branch on your family tree. I am a member of the Indian River Genealogical Society (Vero Beach, Florida), the Florida State Genealogical Society, the Connecticut Society of Genealogists, the Connecticut Ancestry Society, and the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society.  I belong to the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century, too.

Although they're not genealogy related, I share my photos on Flickr.  You can see them here.

  5. I, too, am a descendant of Richard Olmstead through James Olmstead, then through his son, Nathan, and grandson, Samuel. Moses De Forest moved from Connecticut to NY, and then my family line ended up in Georgia through his son, Dr. George Tracy Olmstead, where we have stayed since.

I have found a strong pull toward following my ancestral ties, and have spent the last two years meandering through my family lines. I greatly admire your more systematic method. Thank you for sharing your experience.
